Sutton Coldfield RFC and the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield prepare again for international rugby visitors

It’s been a busy old summer with plenty going on. All that now is a distant memory as we head full pelt into the 2014-15 season.

We begin the season with some good news (always a nice way to start). Last year the club stepped up and put itself forward as a team base for the Rugby World Cup. It was one of those ‘let’s have ago’ moments and no one knew what would happen. Well a boat load of work is what happened and the project grew and grew. It was always going to be a dream to get the whole thing off the ground, a new pitch and new changing rooms all deigned to be world class.

We can now report to you the process is turning into a worthwhile venture. We have funding in place for a large chunk of the works and still some to come in (we should hear in September) and all of this is now bolstered by the announcement today that Sutton Coldfield RFC will be hosting Samoa and Romania during the Rugby World Cup! Two teams! WOW!

Samoa will be here first in the build-up t their clash against South Africa at Villa Park and the straight after Romania will be here in their build up for the match at the Leicester City Stadium.

This is a massive result for all those who have put the hours in to secure this and is a result the club should be rightly proud of, make sure you tell everyone!

There are people who stepped up and helped the club get this result and the work put in from here, the CrossfitB76 gym, Birmingham MET College and the City Council has all paid off. We now need to land the final bit of the jigsaw and confirm all our funding for the development plans and we're ready for the opportunity of generation!
