Almost, but not quite

Undefeated but just fall short
Our U13's travelled to Stourbridge to participate in the James All port Festival. In their pool they were drawn to play against Newport, Old Halesonians and Evesham. In the first game against Newport, the team virtually camped in the opposition half but could only score once a fine interception try by Austin. However, the Shropshire side in a rare breakaway levelled the score 1-1.
In their first game Old Halesonians had been thumped by Evesham and whilst we won this fixture with tries from Fred, Jez Alfie and two from Harvey, it was a failure to add more which eventually cost us any chance of winning the pool.
A very keenly contested final pool match saw us draw 3-3 with Evesham, Rhys Roberts stretching out those long legs to score twice and Austin again were our scorers. So we were undefeated, in fact 3 teams had identical results won one drew two, but by virtue of an 8-0 win over Halesonians , Newport won the pool.
So after lunch we went into the Group 2 play off Roberts scored twice again to overcome Stowe on the Wold and we then came up against Evesham in the final and showed what we could do, demolishing them 7-1 Rhys scoring 4, Harvey 1, Fin and Elliott the scorers. So we were undefeated on the day. The only setback was a red card offence in the Stowe game
