In March the RFU ran a set of grants for investment for clubs ranging from £250 to £10,000. A lot of hard work from the ground crew and in particular Tom Jones has resulted in Sutton Coldfield RFC getting an award of £10,000 towards a tractor to help improve our playing surfaces even further.
Each hour spent on the grounds is one given for free from volunteers so anything we can do to improve the workload is a bonus to us all. This grant will allow for the equipment we have to be used to a better effect, more efficiently and free up valuable volunteer hours to make the pitches even better.
With ever increasing demands on the pitches this will help keep them in the superb condition they are in and remain the best surfaces in the county!
A huge well done and thank you to Tom Jones who made this happen!
What a way to start a winning weekend! Like the pitches, its good to be green!
