Three of the current SCRFC U16’s squad featured for North Midlands Under-16s against Staffordshire

Three of the current SCRFC U16’s squad (Adam Spinner, Joe Morris and Barron Abrahams) featured for North Midlands Under-16s as they launched their season in impressive style by trouncing Staffordshire 58-5 at Burntwood on 8th October.

Despite having had only one training session North Midlands produced a cohesive and dominant display which produced ten tries including a second half hat-trick from right wing Harry Robinson from Worcestershire county.

Spinner started the game at fly half before being rested at half time with both Morris and Abrahams coming off the bench to make an impressive impact in the second half. Replacement wing Barron Abrahams also scored a try on his debut.

Adam Spinner re-joined the fray at fly half 20 minutes into the second half as North Midlands tried a number of different pairings and combinations in the backs and added the final conversion to complete the rout.

The North Midlands squad will now have a second Development Day at Bromsgrove School on October 20 followed by matches against Warwickshire at Bromsgrove RFC on Sunday November 3 (11am) and NLD on Sunday November 17 (1pm) at Leicester Grammar School.

The Sutton lads were three of the four players from Greater Birmingham who featured on the day and should be congratulated on progressing this far.

It goes to show the strength we are building from the mini & Junior section to feed our senior squads and we'll look forward to reading about our rising stars as they continue their journey.
