Apologies to anyone who, like me would have loved to be at this event. I didn't know about it until after it happened, so was unable to publish it on the web site in advance. Ken Sims

In front of a large encouraging crowd the Development side lost a close game tonight 16-10 under the floodlights on the 'International Pitch' to a bright and competitive Walsall 2nd XV. Sutton led 5-3 at the break thanks to a well worked try from winger Luke Fleming, a lead that the same player extended to 10-3 with a fine individual effort early on in the 2nd half, fly half Danny Bancroft narrowly missing with both conversions. However, the visitors came storming back in the final quarter to win the game with a converted try and 2 penalties by experienced fly half Matt Wood.
Several positives to take from the game, including a debut for prop Colin Frost whose recently joined us from Nuneaton Old Eds and the return after a year's absence of talented French fly half Benjamin Ollivier.
Pictured is the Development side that took on their counterparts from Walsall, missing is young flanker Cameron Marriott who was delayed but certainly made an impact when eventually joining the fray.
