Stourbridge Lions 2nd XV 24pts v Sutton Coldfield Development Side 17pts
Midlands Reserve League
On Saturday 3rd Nov the Sutton Development Side travelled into the Black Country to face a Stourbridge Lions 2nd XV hoping to emulate the fine victory the Sutton Senior Side had achieved under floodlights the previous evening and the Sutton second string enjoyed a good first half leading 10-0 at the break with a try a conversion and a penalty to their credit but the home side turned things around in the second half fielding as they did at least three players, who happily confided that they had played in the senior fixture the previous evening at the RSG.
As a result the home side took control of the game scoring 4 tries and 2 conversions, whilst restricting the visitors to a single converted try in a frustrating second period, for the final score line of 24-17 giving the hosts a valuable 5 league points with a bonus point win.
The Sutton points came from James Wells and Vaughan Brown, who scored a try each and Alex Roberts, who kicked two conversions plus a penalty goal.
