Sutton Colts started their defence of the Fred Rowley Cup tonight with an emphatic win over three times winners Wolverhampton. An impressive first half performance provided Suttons electric backs with plenty of ball and saw tries by Rosharn Robinson, Mitchell Brindley, Daniel Carruthers (2), Mitch Barker and Josh Wheeler all superbly converted by Laurie Harries. With a lead of 42 points at half time the writing was on the wall for Wolverhampton, however to their credit they battled on throughout the second half, testing Suttons defensive capabilities on several occasions. But they were never able to breach Suttons line and further tries from man of the match Mitch Brindley, Josh Wheeler and Billy Dunn all converted by debutant this season Joe Westwood saw the final score at 63-0. The Colts season will now culminate on the 2nd May with the final against either Stourbridge or Walsall, who play their semi final next week.
