Sutton Colts 47pts v Lichfield Colts 15pts
North Midlands Colts League
On Sunday 27th Jan 2019 under the direction of Colts Coach Jack Ward Sutton Colts continued their winning run with an impressive 27-0 win over local rivals Lichfield Colts, who were no match for the fleet footed Sutton lads as the home team ran in 9 tries in all with 1 conversion, whilst restricting the young visitors to just 3 tries in a comfortable 47-15 victory.
The Sutton try scoring spree was led by Tom Poland, who scored a hat-trick with his tries coming on 12 minutes, 17 minutes and 29 minutes respectively, followed by Vinnie Prothero, who scored in the first minute and then scored a second try on 49 minutes for a bragging brace, which was also achieved by Harrison Casey, who scored on 38 & 50 minutes respectively. Further tries were contributed by Louis Steer and Dave Thomas with Harry Wheelwright adding the conversion of Tom Poland's third try on 29 minutes, in an outstanding team performance by the next generation of admirable young men wearing the green of Sutton Coldfield and well done Jack Ward the Colts Coach, who played for Sutton 1st XV without reward on Saturday but he got his just reward on Sunday as he inspired the Sutton Colts to a remarkable victory.
