Sutton Colts 34pts v Veseysans Colts 14pts
North Midlands Colts League.
For a second week running Sutton Colts took to the field at the Roger Smoldon Ground and the young men of Sutton produced another winning display of their talents as ran in 3 tries and a conversion in the first half, whilst restricting Veseyans to a single converted try giving Sutton a comfortable 17-7 lead at the break ...and then the second half saw both sides repeat the exact scoring pattern with Sutton running out deserved winners after a final score line of 34-14 for another valuable bonus point victory.
The Sutton tries were scored by Jamie Moore, who led the way after 8 minutes of play and then Tom Poland scored after 12 minutes before Fin Port scored Sutton's third try after 21 minutes and with Harry Wheelwright converting the Tom Poland try the 17 points scored by Sutton were accounted for, noting that Veseyans scored their try after 27 minutes with Max Powell grounding the ball and Jacob Hollins adding the conversion for the 17-7 score line at the break...Veseyans started the second half strongly and they closed to 17-14 after 49 minutes when Tom Carruthers went in for the try and Jacob Hollins claimed his second conversion but young Sutton responded quickly as 2 minutes later following the restart Harry White went over on 51 minutes for the first of his two tries, the second coming just 2 minutes later on 53 minutes to extend the Sutton lead from 17-14 to 27-14 in 4 minutes before Tom Poland raced in for his second try converted by Harry Wheelwright on 70 minutes to take Sutton to their impressive winning margin of 34-14 and another good days work for Sutton's hope for the future, under the guidance and inspiration of coach Jack Ward.
