In bitterly cold conditions it took only 90 seconds of this fixture for the green shirts to stamp their superiority on the game and a second half quartet of tries from winger Myles Bean provided a final score which reflected the difference in the two sides.
With the first meaningful attack of the match fly half Ollie Chitnis skipped past three half tackles to score under the posts, Paolo Paresi converting. After this the game went into a malaise for the next 10 minutes as neither side managed to string together a sustained period of pressure. However in the 12th minute a more constructive break saw centre Jacob Smith off-load to full back Jordan Reader to race past a static Bromsgrove defence, Paresi again converting. With no further decisive moves in the first half the score remained 14-0 at half time.
The second half signalled a host of changes and after just 3 minutes scrum-half Ollie Hobin switched the attack from left to right for the fresh legs of replacement winger Bean to skip past the defenders. A further spell of play around the middle half of the park then ensued before in the 20th minute a promising attack from the Bromsgrove backs was broken down and swift hands along the backs provided a further try for Bean under the posts. Sutton then moved up a gear in an attempt to keep warm. Bean switched to the left to jink his way past three defenders to score, before a break out of defence led by Chitnis provided Bean his final scoring chance of the day. Chitnis kicking the last of his four conversions signalled the last action of the game and a welcome return to the warmth of the clubhouse.
