A scrappy game from the start saw Sutton take the lead from a fantastic breakaway in their own 22. Hard hitting Sutton dominated a game strewn with individual errors, making for a stop start affair. Both front rows were penalised on a too regular basis, binding being the major issue for the ref.
A 27-3 lead at half time, but for the uncharacteristically poor ball handling, should have been more.
Sutton's dominance paid of in the second half stretching the lead to 41-3 at the final whistle, Worcester gallantly fought on without really threatening the Sutton try line, even though they had a good share of the possession, Sutton's defence held strong to keep the visitors down to a single, well struck, penalty kick in the first half.
Plenty to consider before the final, but, at least we have the luxury of being in it.
