Warwickshire semi cup final
Old Covs v Sutton
The U14’s travels to Old Covs this morning for the Warks cup semi final.
It was a wet and miserable day but the lads were up it so were all of the supporters.
Sutton started well and James Mann scored the first try with a run from well inside his own half, Ben Stewart converted. Old Covs battled hard to get back into the game and broke through to ground the ball under the posts which was easy to convert and at half time the score was 7-7.
The second half both teams were fighting hard in the difficult condition with great play from everyone, Jack Bates ran hard through quite a few of their lads and was tackled just before the line and James Mann Got there and scored his second try of the game with Ben Stewart again converting, score 7-14. Old Covs came back to score and convert their 2nd try to equal the score.
Both teams again battled hard and eventually Sutton scored their 3rd try by Adam Parr and again Ben Stewart converting.
Final Score 14-21 the lads will play Sils in the final on the 7th April.
It was a great game and everyone involved deserved to get to the final because they have played so well and worked really hard. Yet again great sportsmanship and respect shown by all.
