Whilst the rest of Sutton's Mini/Junior teams entertained Dudley Kings, late cancellations by DK and Old Sils saw Sutton 13's host Moseley at the RSG.

Despite the forecast, the weather held out for the duration of the mornings play to give both players and spectators ideal conditions for good rugby.

A determined Moseley side received the kick off through their Number 8 Corey, who returned with interest. Sutton eventually got their hands in the ball and ran it back deep into the visitors 22, a high tackle resulting in a home scum, two well matched packs battled well on the Moseley 5 metre line the ball coming back to Harry Mitcham who fed it to the backs.

A couple of phases later Cormac Neville bagged the first points of the game and his first of the season, a cheeky little lay off from Harry making the space for him to dart over the line near the posts. The extras were kicked by Harry to make it 7-0 after 3 minutes.

Moseley hit straight back with a try of their own, some uncharacterist missed tackles allowing their No.15 through with a 35 yard sprint to the line, the extra points were duly taken.

This only served to spark Sutton into life with another four tries being scored in quick succession, Lewis Belton stormed through off a pass from Harry, Luke Reynolds demolished half a dozen tackles and freed Jenson Sharlott down the left wing for number three, Sam grabbed number four after some great play through the centre. The final score of the half came right on half time as Luke, now fully in his stride, smashed his way down the left again drawing three tackles, off loading a perfect pass for Sam to dive over to make the score 27-7.

Half time changes saw the back line rearranged, this had an almost immediate effect with Luke receiving the ball and returning it with interest, from the resulting ruck Dan Khan, now at scrum half, set Sam free breaking the gain line and setting George Creed on his way coming in to the line from full back. Eight minutes of hard rugby from both teams ended with a passage of Sutton possession and a penatly in front of the posts, time for a forward move. Luke tapped and charged, slicing through a gap, duping the Moseley defence lined up 7 metres away, a canny piece of play finished off with a conversion for Harry. Suttons scoring was capped off with a 60 metre break down the line by George Creed to claim his 2nd of the day and Suttons ninth. This prompted wholesale changes in the pack giving the lesser experienced lads a taste of the coal face. The first scrum resulted in a collapse prompting the referee and Moseley coach agreeing to uncontested scrums for the rest of the game.
Despite their advantage in experience Moseley could only summon up a single try with minutes left, the final score 46-12.

A thoroughly enjoyable spectacle to watch, both sides exhibiting some good play.
