Moseley's second visit of the season saw a greatly improved performance by the away side.

A damp Sunday morning lay in wait for the players this week, Sutton began well with the pack starting on the from foot, building a sound platform for Harry Mitcham at scrum half. After some good approach play Sutton broke the deadlock through No.8 Luke Reynolds scoring near the posts running in from the left wing unfortunately for Harry he missed the extras.

Some big hits from both teams early on, set the tone for the mornings play, strong scrummaging from both teams proved to be an enthralling contest. Sutton, although in control, had to contend with some good disruptive play from the visitors making it difficult for them to play their usual free flowing rugby. Again, from a strong platform behind a ruck Harry freed the backs who ran the ball through the hands from side to side, Callum Aherne making good ground on several occasions only to be thwarted by some strong covering tackles by the Moseley full back.

Try number two followed a series of plays from well within Sutton's own half, finished off by Sam Grimshaw running over the line on the right, Harry this time slotting the ball sweetly between the uprights.

Sutton had to wait a while for number three after some big defensive hits maintained the 12-0 scoreline. The pressure was building on the away side as wave after wave of Sutton phases battered at the Moseley door. From 15 metres out Ben McElhannan picked the ball up from the back of a ruck and barged forward setting up the play. As the ball went blind Ben rejoined the throng receiving the ball on the five metre line and smashed his way over for his first try of the season, Harry made it two from three, the score 19-0 with 10 minutes left until the break.

From the kick off Sutton ran the ball back losing it in the tackle, the Moseley full back charged through the centre and was duly cut down by last man George Creed with a monster tackle, he got back to his feet and repeated the feat holding up play long enough for the Sutton pack to regroup.

More pressure this time down the right saw Moseley penalised for a high tackle, Harry took a quick tap and fed Sam skipped over the line for an opportunistic try. The half time score 24-0 to the home side.

Well deserved rests for some of the starting XV was acknowledged with half time substitutions, from the kick off it was evident Moseley were up for the challenge with inside centre Corey taking the lead role in the fight back. A scrappy second half ensued the lads who had come on at the break taking their time to settle into the rhythm and intensity of the game. An eighty yard run by Corey gave the visitors a glimmer of hope for a short time, with their gander well and truly up Sutton began to smash and grab whenever they got the chance and with 10 minutes of the second period gone new prop Syakir Saiful charged his way over the line for his third score in two games making the score 29-5.

The rest of the half was nip and tuck, as both teams probed for openings all over the pitch. As the clock ticked down Luke charged down Sutton's right taking defenders with him breaking tackles as he reached the Moseley twenty two. With a tackle to rival George Creed's earlier effort, Moseley's full back folded Luke in half leaving him prone on the floor (never seen before), ensuring the big No.8 didn't add to the home teams advantage.

The whistle blew with the final score at 29-5, a good tough game played by both sides made for an enjoyable watch from the touch line.
