Lads keep on winning

Sutton U13's played through this game in third gear against a determined but toothless opponent.

Barkers Butts worked hard to try and contain Suttons strong runners but had no answers to the continuous pressure exherted by the pack and backs alike.

Sutton scored six unanswered first half tries - a hat-trick for Sam Grimshaw fed by Luke Reynolds, Harry Mitcham and Alasdair Bell with Harry converting all three. Luke grabbed a powerful try from a tap penalty after Finn Carroll had smashed his way over for his first try in the green shirt. Lewis Belton completed the scoring on the stroke of half time charging through onto a sublime pass from 'Velvet fingers' Ben McElhannan who drew the defence onto him before teasing the ball to Lewis.

Second half changes evened the contest slightly with the replacements taking a while to get to the speed of the game. Taking opportunity of a gap in the Barkers defence Sam sliced through for his fourth, Harry adding the extras from infront of the posts.

As the half progressed the game became a tetchy affair, every decision made or not made being met with howls of derision from the away support. George Creed capped a complete team performance with a blistering solo effort from inside his own half leaving the winger and fullback in his wake.

A late consolation try from Barkers' industrious prop completed the scoring at 50-5.

Looking forward to a real test next week as the Green Machine visit Birmingham Bees for the long awaited confrontation blown out by last seasons bad weather.
