Since his “conversion” to rugby at the start of the season, young Reiss Roberts has been a revelation for the very successful U12 side. Today, in a triangular event against local rivals Lichfield and Uttoxeter he amassed seven tries. With the side also gradually improving its rucking technique they are a formidable unit. On a very cold day, despite cold hands their handling skills and ball movement were too much for both opposition sides. In the first game Fred, Ben and Reiss Chaggar added to those of Roberts in a 5-0 win. Owen, Ruari added to a hat trick by Reiss (R) in a 5-1 victory over Lichfield’s second team, whilst Pierce, Fred, Chris and Elliott added to two from the Fairfax Flyer in another 5-1 win over Uttoxeter, before a blizzard saw everyone dash – almost everyone – to their cars.
