An opposition unbeaten for two seasons came to the RSG and made it difficult for the Sutton U11’s on another warm autumn morning. The first game saw Sutton ‘A’ comfortably control the game from start to finish, although not as fluent as the first week, the performance was a marked improvement on last week’s disappointing festival. A brace of tries from both Louis Hanlan and Harry Mitcham formed the foundation of the 36-0 score line, Sam and Tyler also grabbing a try each. Conversions where scored by Harry (2), Sam and George Creed one each. Big defensive hits from Jenson and Callum proved important on the odd occasion the visitors pressed forward.
As with week one wholesale changes saw the replacements get their chance, and for the second game showed Suttons strength in depth. A hard fought second game saw some good rugby from both sides, Tyler grabbed a second try and Jenson scored and converted a second making the score 12-0, some gritty defensive work by the whole team helped to seal a well deserved win.
The first two weeks have resulted in an impressive haul of 158 points against 0 points conceded. Confidence has been restored for the visit to Moseley next game, thanks to all concerned for supporting the kids – enjoy half term see you all on the 26th for Wednesday training.
