Telford arrived with a small squad, which proved to be a decisive factor as both games developed. Buoyed by the hard fought win from the previous weekend, Sutton ‘A’ blasted out of the blocks running the ball through the hands freely taking every opportunity presented to them.
Tries from Sam (3), Hugh, Tyler, Louis, Harry, Cormac, George C, Jenson, Connor and Henry along with Conversions from Hugh, Tyler, Harry, Cormac (2), Sam (2), and Jenson saw the Sutts complete a convincing 76-0 rout.
The second game saw the replacements take up the challenge with gusto, Sutton ‘B’ carried on where the first game had finished. Another fantastic team performance resulted in an eleven try haul of which eight were converted. The game finished with an outstanding 73-0 score.
As with the first, the second game saw the tries shared throughout the whole team with Sam (centre) grabbing 1 along with Luke (lock), Henry (hooker), Jenson (wing), and Louis (lock), Tyler (lock). A massive shift at the coal face and a tally of 5 tries saw Ben (loose-head) dominate in the personal performance stakes.
Scoring 149 points without reply emphasized Sutton’s superiority on the pitch, coaches and parents commended all the players for their discipline and composure in keeping the shape and working as a team.
A well deserved mention must be forwarded to Telford, who kept plugging away until the end of both games without dropping their heads once.
