For their third game in a row the Sutton Ladies leave with another win against Cannock.

Sutton Coldfield RFC Ladies vs Cannock. Home.
Score: 28-10
Try scorers: Charlie Byrne – 1, Gabrielle Juneau – 1, Sian Peters – 2

Nervous for their first home match of the year the Sutton girls prepped themselves for a tough game. Captain Charlie Byrne won the coin toss so that Sutton were receiving the first kick. After a couple of passes it got out to Sian on the wing who outpaced her opponents to score her debut try in her first game for the club, under the posts. Georgia Copeland then stepped up to convert the try to make the scoreboard 7-0 to Sutton.
The next try was given to Cannock after Sutton made silly mistakes in their defensive line up. The conversion was missed making the score 7-5. Not wanting the opposition to close in, Sutton stepped up their game to put another try in before half time. This time it was scored by Winger Gabrielle Juneau, who again scored it under the posts. Copeland once again converted it making the score 14-5.
Sutton weren’t wearing out in the final 20 minutes. With their defence much stronger Cannock were finding it harder and harder to create the space they needed to make a lucky break. After a turn over Cannock kicked the ball from their own 22. It was caught by Sian Peters who ran an impressive 20m arc to score her 2nd try for Sutton. Again Copeland, on form today converted the try leaving the score 21-5.
Cannock kicked to start again and the ball was this time caught by 2nd row Hannah Haywood. The ball was turned over in a rook but it took less than a minute for Sutton to get the ball back. This time caught by Charlie Byrne who ran it home to score the final try of the game for Sutton convereted once more by Georgia Copeland. 28 – 5.
In the last 5 minutes Cannock found their fight and refusing to leave quietly managed to score the last try of the game. Final score 28-10 to Sutton.
