The currently undefeated Sutton Women travelled to second place Dudley Kingswinford knowing a win would secure their status a league leaders.

A confident Sutton side opened up the scoring within the first five minutes of the game. The home side was awarded the penalty for a infringement around the breakdown. However Suttons pack demonstrated their combined force turning the scrum to win possession. A smooth backs move initiated by fly half Livermore, found winger Sammi Allwood out wide who outpaced the last defender to score

Sutton continued on the attack, creating a scoring chance when they attacked at pace through the centre of the field. Number eight Jessica Nally finding Charlie Byrne on a short line who stepped pass the fullback to cross over the line for Sutton.

The backs soon added another try on the scoreboard, after an impressive carry by Nicole Walsh through the middle of the pitch , fly half Livermore found centre Elise Graham out wide who showed her strength as she battled through Dudley's defence to earn a further five points for the visiting side.

The last ten minutes of the first half saw Sutton’s defence under pressure as the home side looked to put points on the board. Lead by Abbie Buttery and Athena Jai Sutton's forwards responded putting in some smashing hits on Dudley halfbacks preventing play getting out-wide. A penalty was won by Sutton and the visiting side were able to win territory advancing up the pitch. The phases that followed showed the forwards dominance Emma Clueit and Tara Wheeldon teaming up in the middle of the park gaining valuable meters through some quick off-load play. Nally was the player to capitalise on Sutton's dominance the back row earned her first try of the game crashing over the line from five meters out after a strong Sutton drive. Con Livermore

The second half saw further impressive play by the visiting side. Natalie Kennett winning the penalty after applying pressure around Dudley breakdown saw the opportunity for Sutton to kick for territory. The proceeding line-out was won by Jai, with scrum half Molly Worthington feeding the ball to Nally. The able forward then dummied the defender before sprinting for the line to add Sutton's fifth try of the game. Con Livermore.

Ellie Good was unlucky not to add a further score in the second half, after an impressive phase of play the young winger received the ball out wide off McEvoy. The try scoring opportunity was only faltered by an impressive cover tackle by Dudley's Fullback. However Sutton capitalised on the break with Byrne gathering the ball and off-loading to Kennett who found Nally who crashed over the line to secure her hat-trick.

After already gaining an assist in the game Livermore added a try of her own. After a quick turnover ball by Wheeldon, the fly half who was lacking options out wide skipped around to the blindside before a dazzling run which saw her outpace several of the Home sides defence to finalise the Sutton victory.
