Womens NC Midlands One

Under the leadership and guidance of coaches Nathan Burchell, George Ord and Tom Foulsham and with the on field inspiration of team leader Charlie Bryne, Sutton Ladies were promoted at the end of last season and have gone from strength to strength in the higher league of Womens NC Midlands One crushing all before them with some devastating results and last Sunday was no exception when Lutterworth Ladies felt the full strength of the Sutton Ladies team as they suffered a convincing 45-5 home defeat.

After making the pleasant journey into the Leicestershire countryside on Sunday afternoon Sutton Ladies progressed to a steady 12-5 lead at the break scoring 2 tries and a conversion whilst restricting the home side to a single try but the Sutton stars opened up in the second half scoring 5 more tries, 4 of which were expertly converted by fly half Alison Livermore.

During the highly entertaining game Sutton scored 7 magnificent tries and leading the try fest with a brace each were Kerrie-Anne Melsom and Jessica Nally. In addition Athena Jai, Maria Crowfoot and Vicky Sullivan contributed a try each and fly half Alison Livermore kicked 5 of the 7 conversions on offer for a personal points tally of 10 points.

The Sutton Ladies, the pride of Sutton Coldfield RFC take a well earned rest from the pressures of league rugby this weekend before looking to continue their impressive winning sequence when they return to league action.
