Sutton Women RFC 2XV secured their first points of their inaugural league campaign travelled to Somercotes in Derbyshire in horrible wet conditions came away with a well deserved 47-7 win after leading 14-7 at the break.

A close first half saw Sutton battle for possession, it was the away sides line outs which provided the attacking platform with forward of the match Amy Rollins winning the ball in the air on several occasions. The first half scores came from Jada Bailey and Chanelle Stankard who both dashed through the oncoming defence to score under the posts.

The second half saw Sutton pick up their usual strong form. Stankard herself used her pace to run in a second half hat-trick before Carla Malek scored in similar style outpacing the oppositions fullback to add a further try for Sutton. Charlie George benefitted from some fierce drives by Sutton's forwards, as the second row player crashed over the line to score her first try ever for the Sutton side! Shannon Coxx impressed on her rugby debut linking up with fullback Connie Bradshaw to provide a constant counter attacking threat. Rachel Graham was in charge of kicking duties for the day , slotting four conversions between the posts before Holly Wheeldon stepped up as her replacement to add two more successful kicks.
