Lads Fight To The End Despite Missing 12 & Playing Most Of The Game With 14

Due to Injuries and school commitments, an understrength Sutton side faced a strong Newport outfit.
Sutton found themselves under pressure from the start which this was further compounded when they found themselves down to 14 men after only 10 mins.
Sutton continued to work hard with the pack gaining good possession from set pieces and rucks but Sutton lacked the fluency and decision making they are capable of producing. Newport continued to pressure which resulted in them scoring a try and led 5 – 0 at half time.
Newport’s pressure continued in to the second half which resulted in their second try. Sutton, despite incurring a number of injuries, continued to battle hard and Lamaar Lawrence was able to find a gap in the solid Newport defence and score for Sutton. However, with time running out, Sutton were unable to find that equalising try and the game finished with a win for Newport 10 – 5.
