A new look Sutton U15's travelled down the A38 to Bromsgrove for the season opener. Buoyed by the knowledge that several ex Bromsgrove players would be returning for the opposition, the home side came out the gates firing on all cylinders. Throwing everything at the away side Bromsgrove had the upper hand for the initial stages of the game, almost scoring under the posts within the first five minutes.
This sparked Sutton into life, the pre-season rust still evident well into the teams first half play. Flashes of what was to come helped to give the visitors an healthy 0-21 lead at the break.
The second half saw a shuffle round with all seven replacements coming on, the continuity in quality was evident as Sutton began to open their collective legs and take complete control, running in scores at an alarming rate. Bromsgrove's frustration overflowed into some questionable play, the result...a yellow card for Sutton for 'back-chat'. Even with 14 players Sutton's class shone through with the try line being crossed 9 times during the second period. After the first five minutes, the Sutton try line was never troubled with Bromsgrove rarely getting anywhere near the visitors 22.
A great start to the 2015/16 campaign saw 12 try's and some very promising individual performances throughout the team, next week sees us at home with Nottingham Corsairs the visitors.
