Sutton Coldfield RFC U15's 24
Birmingham & Solihull 7
Sutton U15's continued their impressive form with an outstanding win against a Bees side full of county and academy players. Sutton new they had to be on their A game and the visitors threw everything at Sutton in the early exchanges but Sutton's defence held firm. Every player from 1 to 15 tackled their hearts out and growing in confidence the Sutton backs started to throw the ball wide and find space to attack. With Bees stretched in defence it was centre Niall Madden who spotted a gap and raced through to open the scoring, the conversion being added by Tom Bishop. Madden added a second on the stroke of half time scoring in the corner after sustained pressure from Sutton to deservedly end the half 12-0.
The second half saw more of the same but Sutton had the added advantage of the wind and slope and were able to clear their lines as again the visitors came out strongly. Having soaked up the early pressure Sutton started to impose themselves and wave after wave of attacking phases eventually saw Prop George Bonnell power his way over. Bees pulled one back after a gap opened up from a maul and the visitor's No.8 powered through. Sutton had the last word however when full back Harry Mills broke several tackles to power his way over from outside the 22, Tom Bishop again adding the conversion to seal a great win.
